General Comments on Computer Companies and Retailers ... I thought about buying a new one when a friend suggested Volts UK. I went there and on first impression it seemed very small compared to PC World. But it was the most friendly place I have been in ages (excluding the pub), I chatted with the sales guy for almost half an hour chatting about my experience with PC world and the problems with My computer. The chap said that I aught to bring in my HP for them to look at and quote for a repair and a replacement machine to help me make a more informed decision. He explained to me the charges etc which at £23.50 to look at my Hp as apposed to £70 with PC world, I decided to nervously give it a go. I brought the PC in to t... Apple Power Mac G4 ... computer buffs who would like to custom design the computer to their own needs. However, for the more conventional home use this computer does not live up to it's potential. It lacks USB ports, there are only two, and so for family use this could pose a problem as the keyboard takes one up, and so only one is left free. Also, you will need to buy outboard speakers because the tiny one at the front is appalling if you really want to appreciate your music. If you have itchy feet and like to move house or move things around, this is maybe not the computer for you. Apple iMac ... for user to taste the Mac environment. For surfing in the net, it is excellent. However, it is super heavy! And after using it for a year, it crashed more frequently. The whole thing just gets hot after hours of usage. For people who wish to use it for destop publishing, i would not recommend this model. It will definitely irritate you! I can't even keep two applications running at the same time even though i already expand the ram and memory to 10 GB. If you only need simple photoshop usage and surfing in the net, this is good for you. Please give me a rating if you found my experience is useful for your information!
