ve had an Acer 1664WLMi for work purposes for a year or so, and although have had other Acers which have been fine, this one has given me numerous problems. The laptop has a 15.4 inch TFT screen which is crisp and clear, and superb for watching moves on and is in widescreen format. The Pentium 4 processor and 64MB of memory mean that the machine should be fast enough, and it also comes with a wireless network card and is relatively lightweight. It may just have been that I was unfortunate, but the machine I have has developed a series of faults. We got an Acer Aspire laptop in 2006. It has been ok but we ve had to get the hard drive replaced once and the keyboard isn t very strong because a few of the keys have come out after regular use. We have 1gb on the desktop and it runs much more smoothly with Windows XP and much less hard disc access. The DVD recorder has stopped ...

the things. I asked him to recommend something and this was his choice. The Acer Aspire is officially a machine for SMEs (small / medium enterprises - it's a term frequently used in my lectures) and self employed people who are after a portable machine with a good sized screen. I don't fit into either of these categories but it still seemed like a good machine for me - one with decent specs, a fantastic screen for watching films on (I don't have a TV) and portable from home to uni to anywhere else the wind might take me. The laptop comes with an Intel Pentium 4 processor 3.06GHz with Hyper-Threading technology and 512KB Cache. I can just about explain ...
