I had been wanting to buy a CD writer for a long time. When i finally went to the the local electronics shop and asked what CD writer they had, they told me they were at the end of one of their Order cycles, and so they were out of practically all brands of CD writer. i had recently bought a new Handy Cam and wanted to convert the tapes onto CD's, so i asked them, what exactly they had, and they told me, the only thing they had were the Creative CR-RW Blaster 8432. I had no choice and putting aside what my friends had told me about the unreliability of Creative CD writers, i bought it for just under a $40.
Installation was quite simple and easy, and way very quick. Anyways, once i was done withe installation, i gave is a test drive, i tried burning a Music CD. The CD writer was compatible with speeds upto 50x, and when i gave it a shot, it turned out to be brilliant. the speed was awesome, the CD was done in less than 2 minutes. Anyways, I have been using this CD writer for almost 4 years now, and i have not had even a single problem.... not a single one. I have always had a great time with this drive. the speed i great and the quality is awesome, and the drive is very reliable, and best of all, its not just a CD writer, its also a CD rewriter.. so you can use Cd's as a big huge Floppy....
4 Years and running, no problems at all.. i think this Cd writer is great, an is very reliable, and even though my friends had asked me not to buy it, im glad i went with this product.... it is great writer and it has been faithful all throughout the many years.... try it out... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..
Had this drive for a while, and so far it's given me lots of quick and reliable service. If you're not nerdy, you may need some help setting it up, as in common with all CD-writers it ideally needs to have its own IDE channel, since too much activity on the channel could cause failed writes, and wasted CD-R disks. It works beautifully on my setup, and the software supplied (Nero 4.0 with free online upgrade to version 5) is powerful and flexible. I've been using Memorex 700MB CD-R's so far without any problems. It even writes funny formats like Video CD's as standard - the software supplied by other manufacturers often doesn't include these capabilities as standard, and costs money to upgrade. Overall, it's a good, reliable budget package.
After owning a Creative CD-RW Blaster 8432 for a couple of months, I can safely say that I will never be buying a Creative CR writing piece of equipment. Not only is the rewriter pretty slow in my opinion, but it is very unreliable. To this date I have wasted 65 CDs, and before you tut for thinking I should have stopped, everytime I was told a different method to try by Creative. The drive comes with Adaptec DirectCD software, and together these two products leave you with a vast collection of useless CDs. I have tried all sorts of different things to put on CDs, audio, data and video. Only three CDs have I ever managed to burn correctly. When I tried to make another burn after a successful one, it didn't work. This suggests great unpredictability, and this is backed up by my experience with the product. If I were you, I wouldn't take the risk with this and buy a different, more reliable rewriter. But hey, if you're after some attractive shiny coasters, buy buy buy!
i first wanted one of these peices of hardware after seeing the capabiliites of one at my best friends house. there are endless amouns of jobs that this is capable of and there are endless amounts of things you can copy depending on the CD RW software tha tyou have. some software can copy anything regardless of copyright laws. i reccommed this model to any one looking to buy a CD writer. the best on the market. the endless features include being able tto customize software cds and audio cds, its the one to buy!
