Advantages: easy website, quick service, much cheaper
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
I found the crucial memory site on Moneysupermarket.com. We were looking for a laptop and followed a link on to martin's money tips that had specification guidelines. Anyway, the site named crucial as a way to upgrade your laptop the cheaper way. After struggling to get a laptop at a reasonable price with 2gb memory we went for a 1gb and purchased 2 gb from crucial.
I found the website easy to use with the search criteria done in sequences for you, it requests you to select the brand then model then it will bring up the goods available. The memory cost us £17 odd for a 2gb Packard bell stick. They also do 1gb memory for £10 odd. (price correct as of 01/09) Most of the various memory sticks we looked at on crucial were the same price and they offer free postage and packaging (correct as of 01/09). I have to say I was amazed by the speed, I ordered the memory on the Monday evening, it was with us Wednesday morning, for free I thought this was a great, speedy service.
I have not had to have any more dealings with the company as the stick is in perfect working order so I can not tell you what the company is like to speak to or correct any problems.
I also like the fact that the company have not swamped me with emails advertising things and such like. All in all we received three emails, 1 order confirmation, 1 dispatch notice and 1 request for feedback. We are very pleased with this company and have recommended them to friends.
Summary: crucial makes it much cheaper to upgrade the speed of your computer.
