Advantages: cheap good, can get in for free

Disadvantages: bit risky buying things

computer fairs are sometimes pretty good, the ones i have been to in recent times I have usually picked something up that I have needed for not a lot of money. However, theres rarely any around the sheffield area, that are easy to get to. There are occasional ones at Don Valley, but I hear these are not very good, and charge four quid to get it.

One good way of avoiding the door charges is to look at the local press - who sometimes print vouchers to get in for free on their advertising. Another ruse is to go there about an hour before the advertised closing time. They'll usually let you in either free or very cheap.

I've got some great suggestions for picking up stuff at computer fairs - have a read.

In some ways it's a shame that not many show up in Sheffield, but if you look at certain wood-based and virtual publications, you may get a better idea which ones tour in yo area and the dates they should be there.
