      Very helpful

First impressions of this monitor is the sheer size. It's a 19 inch monster with a massive viewable screen area. The difference is immediately noticable and you will enjoy using your computer a lot more on a larger display. I got this monitor to replace my old 15 inch display which served me well, or so I thought. The clarity of the picture is much better than my old monitor, something I didn't expect from such a large display. The output is as good as anything you could expect from a 17 or 15 inch monitor, and the the output at max resolution of 1600x1200 is still very sharp and defined. The monitor is designed for 1280x1024 85hz and at this resolution it performs very well, no lines on the screen, and a good properly oriented picture. The monitor has the standard Hansol controls, which use the four buttons on the front to control every aspect of the picture. Spend a few minutes setting up to get the output looking perfect, and the monitor remembers the settings so long as it stays plugged in. It's plug and play compatible which means there's no need to install drivers in windows 98 Second Edition and above, you just attatch the monitor, turn on the computer, and Windows will automatically determine the various resolutions that the monitor can handle. The price was the most attractive feature of this monitor for me. I got it for only £170 including VAT, which is cheaper than a lot of 17 inch monitors One downside of it is the sheer weight of the unit due to the size. If you don't have a big sturdy desk I don't recommend getting this, as it weighs close to 15 kilos, if you do have the space though, it's a must.
