      Advantages

It's this for 5-50 pounds or a >300 pound LCD, your choice

I managed to get this monitor for free as someone else was throwing it out, and it has performed so well that I haven't bothered to upgrade to LCD screens yet, there's no point, it will only mean a drop in performance. It can run at 1920x1440 which is an awesome resolution that is above full HD TVs, and above what most monitors can do unless you spend 200 pounds or more on an LCD. On the other hand it does put out more heat than an LCD (I'm sitting in a >26C room right now, but i do have a lot of hardware). This monitor was and is just about the best you can get unless you have a budget of many hundreds to spend, and who knows, you may get lucky and find one for a very good price. I did, which is why i run all my games at resolutions to make my friend's jaws drop.

Have been using the same one since 1999. Sturdy and reliable. Sharp image but I would have to say that its color temperature appears slightly darker compared to other CRTs

Iiyama Vm-Pro450. Heard of it? If not where have you been? This monitor is like the KING of screens in the 19" arena! It consistently wins the screen round ups. And in my opinion it rightly deserves such credit. THe screen is quite heavy. It is in fact 27kg! so if you intend to buy one and not got the strength to do it please go work out down the gym then you will be prepared for the vm450. It has a very simple and minilistic look to he screen. I think it looks tidy and stlish. On the front of the screen it has 3 buttons to change the display properties and one for power. The OSD is not the most natural thing to use. At first it is slow and a bit clumbsy to use but after a while it will be first nature and become very quick. The screen itself is very flat and does almost look like it is concave to you. The screen is very clear and sharp with text and graphics. IT CAN display ANYTHNG you throw at it. from its max at 2048 x 1536 so now you will be able to run this like the back of your graphics card states. And will run 1280 x 1080 my preferred resolution as my eye site isn't that good at an astonishing 150Hz!!! yes 150!!!!. If you have moderately good eye site I would use 1600 x 1200. This screen is not just big but the sheer quality of it makes you love it. You will really benefit it if like me you use your computer quite a bit so the extra desktop space will show itself. You have many windows of explorer open, a graphics program, other chat programs etc this will show in here. The space makes you more efficient when working. The OSD had 3 buttons to change its properities. Its very comprehensive and will offer all the tweaks that you crave for. This screen is a MUST buy if you need a screen that is quality and flat. Bearing in mind that its not just for all the graphics uses out there, but for everyone that uses a computer. Another quality screen from Iiyama.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Iiyama is known to manufacture some very nice monitors, and the Vision Master Pro 450 is no exception. Yes, you can buy larger monitors. Yes, a few even have better quality. But you won't find one that comes even close to the Pro 450 at a price of around $550. It has an on screen menu & 15-pin D-Sub or BNC inputs. It was built to be a simple yet high-quality monitor and exceeds those goals. One of the other things I like about this monitor is the fast resolution switching. I have seen monitors that take up to 3 seconds to fully switch from a text console to high resolution, the Pro 450 takes under a second. The screen is incredibly flat and almost looks concave if you're used to staring at other monitors for hours on end. The only (and I do mean *only*) weakness I have found is that the image dimensions (configurable with the OSD) change slightly as the tube warms up. If you adjust the display so it barely fits within the black borders around the edge of the tube, you'll find in half an hour or so, that your picture has widened and shifted up a few fractions of an inch. This is no big deal, however, just remember to always set your preferable dimensions when the monitor is warm. Upon further reflection, I would not have bought any other monitor.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

As with most monitors from Iiyama this features excellent quality matched with a higher than average price. The diagonal size is slightly small but the clarity and crispness of the display more than makes up for this. The refresh are excellent and you can rest assured that this monitor won't induce headaches. It has a very tight dot pitch of 0.25mm which makes small text remain readable even at high resolutions. For the price it may appear slightly underspecified but for once the specifications don't tell the whole story.
