Microsens Ethernet Transceiver
It is compliant with the 10Base-FL standard (IEEE 802.3). The transceiver's compactness allows it to be plugged directly onto the AUI-port of an Ethernet network adapter card. The transceiver is linked to the network via multimode duplex fiber with ST connectors. This enables the coverage of distances of up to 2 km. A different version of the transceiver permits the use of single mode duplex fiber. In this case, the maximum distance which can be covered increases to up to 5 km. 6 LEDs indicate the state of the transceiver and can be used for error diagnostics. Both the SQE-test (heartbeat) and the loop-back mode can be disabled, enabling direct interfacing to repeaters. The transceiver is downwards compatible to the FOIRL standard for the cascading of repeaters and is this also suitable for large scale networks. More Microsens computers
