I wanted cheap backup media, I wanted easy access to all the MP3's I have, I wanted to clear some of the clutter on my hard drive, so, what options did I have. I could have gone for another hard drive - No. I could have gone for a Zip drive - Not enough on a disk. I know, a CD Re-Writer. The Mits is a very good CDR, its cheap very reliable and best of all it writes in raw mode this helps for making back ups(legitimately of course) of your Playstation games(it still has to be chipped) or PC games, without the raw writing you will need to download a patch to make a working copy of your disk but the Mits overcomes all the protection writing an exact copy in raw. The only fault I found with the Mits is it dosent like dust so keep it out of a dusty atmosphere and you should have no trouble. The Software to use is Clonecd. Its the dogs thingys ...

I have had this drive for about 18 month’s now and although it has been superseded by a faster model I have found no reason to upgrade, the speeds my model operates at are 8x read, 4x write and 2x re-write, and for my usage I found this more than enough. It has been very reliable and I have only messed up a couple of discs and that was my fault. The drive itself is a standard CD-ROM size, and is a cinch to install, as long as you’ve got a spare 5¼” drive bay, free power connector and EIDE cable.
