      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I have had one of these 17" babies for about six or seven years now. It has never let me down. I always keep it on hand in case the LCD craps out. The case is not a clean white any more, but that is a testament to its longevity. The only slight issues with the SyncMaster for some people may be that it is quite a weight compared to modern screens, and can take up a fair amount of space.Apart from that, the picture quality stays bright and crisp and the refresh rate is perfect. An excellent emergency back-up monitor to have around.

VERY GOOD QUALITY AND RELIABLE FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE

These monitors are real work horses and cannot be beaten for reliability, good looks, size of screen and also versatility concerning placement and position with its adaptable base. The screen is very smooth and consistant - no flickering and colours are bright and intense. I have three of which the eldest is 2 years old, and have had no problems. The only irritating thing is the settings (brightness+size calibration) sits on the side of the monitor and is a bit ackward to set as there are 5 buttons and you cant see which on is for what. Ever so often you either cancel settings or switch off the monitor by mistake whilst doing settings, but I suppose you only do settings on the monitor once in a while
