The new FX200 Series VAIO Notebooks are reviving their engines at the prospect of taking on the desktop replacement market, with each one tailored to a different budget and featuring a specification appropriate to its target audience. But in spite of the variations, these models share basic characteristics that are important to all users: a powerful processor, a large-scale XGA resolution screen supported by a graphics chip offering the appropriate levels of performance, a number of connectivity and multimedia options that are complemented by an integral DVD or (in the case of the FX201) CD-ROM drive and, lastly, a range of supplied Sony software that enhances professional and personal use.
When designing and manufacturing VAIO Notebooks, Sony pays particular attention to the development of environmentally sound products. Today, VAIO Notebooks are easier to recycle, consume less energy and are produced from materials with the lowest possible impact to the environment. They are also packaged in boxes and protection cushions made from recycled carton and pulp mold. Continuing Sony's commitment to this area, the company is currently working towards eliminating halogenated flame-retardants, PVC and lead in solder from VAIO Notebooks.
