... Yes, a few discs have failed (that's right from the shrink wrap to the writer) and I have had a few not read in other machines. Another odd error I occasionally suffered was, upon inserting a new, freshly unwrapped disc, I would be told that there was no blank space - in other words, apparently pre-filled! Also, the audio CD performance is sort of average. Not brilliant, but good enough. Certainly a better risk than a load of no-name nasties. At that bargain price, they presented a reliable option for every ty...more

Premium Review Traxdata CD Media: Good CD's - Really!!!! (872 words)

Most people seem to think that Traxdata CD's are rubbish. If people are moaning about them not working then it's that they take too long to recognise in a CD player. Personally I think they're fine, although I seem to have a lot less trouble with my CD's than most other people. Traxdata have a lot of different CD's on offer, but most people will be familiar with either the 74 or 80 minute CD-R's. They do come in silver and gold varieties but I have only ever used their gold discs. I'm sure someone knows about all the colours but to be honest I have never noticed any difference whether the CD be gold, silver, blue or green. ...

Traxdata... well, from the moment you first set eyes on the box you have to have concerns! Traxdata CDs come in lurid yellow and blue boxes which give the impression of something cheap and nasty lurking within. If you should be unfortunate enough to purchase a box and make use of the contents, then you will quickly realise that you should have listened to the alarm bells ringing inside your head and left them on the shelf as Traxdata make just about the poorest quality recordable CDs on the market. The great attraction with Traxdata is the extremely low cost per CD. As well as the hideous yellow boxes, you can also buy Traxdata CD media loose - either ...

Has anyone noticed a dramatic price fall in the cost of CDRs? A few months ago I was paying 50p a piece for blue/silver unbranded 80 minute discs in jewel cases. I have now found that I can get 100 blue/silver 80 minute Traxdata CDRs IN JEWEL CASES for under £40!!! I was originally using the unbrandeds because of the low price, now I am using the Traxdata discs and I am very impressed. The lower cost appealed to me when I bought the braned discs, and I haven't had one fail yet. I use a lot of CDs for backup purposes, and I used to find that I would get 1 in 10 failing with the unbrandeds. The Traxdata discs are superb for not failing. The ...
