The new looks : Ramsinks/Heatshields Most of you will know what Memory Modules look like, they are made of a number of black memory chips grouped on a green bar. Recently - and they copied this from the RIMM modules (*) - on high specification branded memory, the whole module is covered in a thin metal shield with the brand name on it. ...

I must be mad to try to write an opinion on Ram (Random Access Memory) as my first opinion on Dooyoo. What do you say about computer memory, most people don’t care, they just switch on the computer and “hey presto” it works. Well let me explain what the Ram does and why I recommend using “Unbranded” Ram. ...

Want to improve the performance of your computer? Then, adding more RAM will certainly set you on the way! RAM stands for Random Access Memory, and it's function is very simple. All of the programs you have on your computer are stored on these RAM boards, which are attached to your motherboard. Basically, the more programs you have ...

I got some more RAM for my PC the other day, and in the fashion that I do, I though't I'd write an op on it. But how do you make an opinion on RAM good? How do I manage to write a good op on RAM. It's pretty boring really, doesn't do much and I could quite easily write a tiny short and useless op on it. But I won't, because in ...

The difference with branded and unbranded memory is that one is branded and the other is not. Apart from this some unbranded modules will not work together. I once bought two different dimms that did not work together but both worked in different machines. I havn't experienced this with branded memory. I think this is because that ...

RAm is extremely cheap at the moment and the difference it makes to the speed of for computer is well worth the money. I purchased 128Mb of RAm from Crucial Memory for only £15.29 plus p+p over the web and it arrived three days later and it feels like i have a new computer. The companies website has a list of computer manufacters and you click on ...

Memory is so cheap at the moment that you should get as much of it as you can. With 256mb PC-133 SDRAM at £25, this should be the minimum with a new system. RAM can make a very large difference in the speed of a system and its ability to multi-task and open programs quickly. Most computers will take PC-133 SDRAM memory, but P4's must ...

Whatever the brand, all memory does the same job! If you visit any online retailer you will see that there 100’s of brands of memory available, but the cheapest memory to be had is always the unbranded stuff. Being au fait with PC hardware means that I build, upgrade and repair my systems (and other peoples). And when you ...

If you want to upgrade the memory of your system (or indeed build a new one), and go to a PC manufacturer or supplier ...
