When I first started to think about writing this, it was with an air of doom and gloom, My viewpoint was that the days of webmasters dishing out freebies likes sweeties in a candy shop where well and truly over. But after taking time to really think about this subject, is the free ride over? My viewpoints shifted. I no longer think it`s over but I do now think you haveto work a little harder for your freebies, it used to be the way that everything was about hits, the more people that saw your site the better, nowadays, it`s no longer a case of just drawing in the crowds, you`ve got to get something from them, and what`s that ... Ah, the wonders of computers – aren’t they great? What was that? Who said “No”? Shame on you! Computers are great, especially PCs, cos you can do loads of different stuff on them – make music, surf the Internet, chat to other people download loads of por… erm I mean programs from the Web. But, are computers as good as they can be, or could they get better? Do I, Professor Dukey, have any ideas that I would like to see incorporated into the future of PCs? Well, ‘course I do. Again, I'm the one who had the idea for this category, so I feel obliged to have my say (Come on everyone, you know you want to write in the Computer Forum!). The future, what's possible, surely this is a chance to let my imagination run wild. I could do, but I'm not going to second guess the future. As much as I wish I was Nostradamus II, I'm not, so I'm going to be a bit more modest in what I ramble on about. First up on my nearly possible wish list is some kind of decent voice recognition. Everybody thinks it’s funny to make fun of Star Trek. We are easy targets. We get annoyed when people call him Dr. Spock. It’s MR SPOCK for crying out loud !!! See what I mean.
