Sony Ericsson K750i
by Geth33
I have had this phone for over three years and it still functions near perfectly. It is a hardy phone as I have dropped it on a regular basis and it has never caused more than a slight scratch on the surface. The only problem I have had is with the joystick 'sticking' occasionally, however the phone is still useable when this happens. ... The buttons are a good size and layout for texting, and there are no touchscreen buttons. The camera is not the best (2.0 mega pixels) but still takes a decent developable photograph which can easily be transferred onto a computer. The phone also allows internet access and can be used as a radio with the provided headphone and aerial combo. It has a decent amount of storage for both text messages (around 300) and photos (not yet reached the limit!). It may not be a very technical, modern phone but I would recommend it to anyone who wants a basic phone for calling, texting and taking the odd photo. Read the complete review |

Cordon Bleu Auto Slow Cooker
by Boffyboffy
This is the one! Buy it.
GENERAL THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN A SLOW COOKER - I've had 5 slow cookers, (I keep breaking things :( ) and I would suggest that the things to look for are:
1 A 'round' cooker. This helps distribute the heat evenly (and this is essential). I have had a couple of 'oval' cookers and the heat burns ... the food in the 'corners'.
2 Thick ceramic. Again, this helps distribute heat evenly (and again, this is essential). Unfortunately, you cannot tell the ceramic thickness without looking at the item itself. For this reason, I advise against buying online. Go to the store and have a good look.
3 Nicely spaced heater element (again, to ensure even heat distribution). I don't know why I mentioned this, cos you can't tell without dismantling the item :(
THIS MODEL. I recommend this cooker! It is round and is made of thick ceramic and distributes heat perfectly.
It doesnt look good ( I wanted a gleaming, stainless steel item to match my toaster, kettle etc.). It looks 'plasticy', and although it is 'cool wall', the outer plastic surface can melt if placed close to hot items - my George Foreman grill was close-by and melted the outer wall of the slow cooker a bit.
But if its performance you want - then this is IT! Put your food in it. turn it on, go to work, come back home after work, and eat the food. How easy can it be?
Sadly, I threw my old one away because I dropped, and smashed, the glass lid. Spare parts are difficult (read - impossible) to come by. Its cheaper to replace the entire slow cooker. Read the complete review |

Sony Ericsson K750i
by kaylaa
I got this phone towards the end of 2006, after having loved my brother's which he'd already had a year, and it was my third mobile phone. Obviously technology wise it bettered those that I owned before it but even putting that aside it was, and still is, my favourite mobile phone. I never had any problems in the two years I used that ... phone, and I then passed it on to my mum who for the past 18 months has again, had no problems.
Design:
I'll admit that my Dad has always thought this phone was ugly, but what do parents know about style?! I think it looks great!! It's a little chunky when compared to slimline phones but that certainly was never a problem. One fault in the design which was only a problem for me when the phone was new and somehow stopped being one is regarding the joystick. As you can just about make out from the picture there's a small gap around the edge of the joystick which collects dirt meaning it can stop working. My brother's for example, after several months didn't like going up.
One thing I love which you can't see on the picture is the protective cover on the camera. It not only acts as protection but looks good and makes you feel like you're taking photos with a real camera as oppose to a phone.
Reliability:
I never had any problems. I can't remember the phone ever crashing (although my memory's not that great!) and I'm sure the phone will last a long while yet despite heading on for being 4 years old.
Features:
It has a radio which although I rarely used it I like knowing it was there. It's a feature most phones seem to bypass for some reason or another. It also has Bluetooth, infrared and everything else you'd expect from it really. There certainly isn't anything missing.
Camera:
Whilst I love every other aspect of this phone the camera is definately the highlight. It's 2MP which at the time was a very good quality camera for on a mobile, and when compared to other mobile phone 2MP cameras the pictures are much better quality than any I came across. There's no flash but there is a light you can turn on which effectively does the same thing. The light's great for using as a torch as well, and I miss not having it on my new phone! (you can even get it to flash SOS in morse code which is always reassuring!). The video quality is slightly less which can be expected, but it's still perfectly satisfactory.
This phone made me a loyal Sony Ericsson customer, and my only reason for replacing it was that as you would expect technology moved on. But I made sure I bought another Sony Ericsson, and whilst I do love the C902 I now use, I think this will always be my favourite phone, and I will truly be sad the day it dies (if that day ever comes!).
