Beko Televisions in generalNewest Review: ... The automatic channel setup was fine. So much for the good news. The bad news relates purely to quality, which is just plain poor. Picture quality =============== As with most widescreen TVs, a normal broadcast picture gets flattened to spread over the whole screen and the user can switch between 16:9, 4:3 and perhaps a couple of intermediate settings (in the case of the Beko, "Letterbox" and "Zoom"). For the Beko, this means you have a choice of flattened images or serious dynamic pincushion and trapezoidal distortion. Regardless of which mode you choose, the picture is grainy (and yes, this was using a very s ... more |

Summary: don't buy a Beko 28426! ======= Details: ======= A couple of weeks ago, I bought a Beko 28426NDS. The core specification: 28" widescreen, Nicam stereo, Fastext, 2x SCART inputs. When my old 21" television went "fsst" the day before an England match in the World Cup, a new box was an essential immediate purchase. With widescreen prices having dropped so far recently, it seemed logical to pay the extra 50-100 pounds to get one, since a decent-size ordinary TV was up to 200 anyway. The reason I chose a Beko was: - roughly the same spec as all the other cheapies - lowest price for a 28" widescreen by a ... Read the complete review

I bought the Beko 28416NDS 28" WideScreen TV about a week ago and i have to say im really impressed with its quality for the price i paid for it. To begin then, the TV looks very attractive, the silver finish almost puts it on par with the Sony and Panosonic models which cost far more to buy, but apart from this area, the TV actually performs considerberly well. The picture quality is pretty fantastic when you use the RGB input, essential for games consoles true form, and the sound is also neat - but it could be improved with the model 'up' (the Virtual Dolby model). In terms of features, well in this area it has 2 scarts, and an ... Read the complete review

Around 6-7 years ago, I bought a half-size (small) BEKO refrigerator. I did not know the brand, but the energy rating was good, it was cheaper than others and it was not much money. It turned out to be a great product. Afterwards, some 5 years ago, when it was time to change my aging Bosch, I went for a large BEKO refrigerator and it is as good as the new Bosch refrigerator my next-door neighbour has bought (he paid exactly twice the amount though!). Since then, I bought a large TV set from then and it is now 4 years, no problems. Considering all that money I spent on my previous Sony TV which went f* bust in just over 2 years, I say, not bad, ... Read the complete review

With more and more brand names hitting the electrical goods front it would be nice to know that some of the lesser known names were as good as the well-established ones. Beko, though isn't. A few years ago I bought a television set by Beko. It was a 20 inch teletext so nothing grand, but it was cheaper than the other brands. At first it worked very well, but after only four months it decided it wasn't going to switch on. As it was under guarantee I had the television taken away to be fixed and a week later it was back. A few weeks later the remote control decided not to work. So I contacted Beko and two months later a replacement was sent. During ... Read the complete review
