....Sorry! :0> The Rio500, the new generation MP3 player from Diamond, but what is the differance beetween this and the earily models... Well, there are a number of differances, the main one being... *Memory. The Rio500 has 64MB of memory (Upgradable to 96MB) which is roughly an hour of music at the normal (128) bit rate. The Rio300/600 have both got 32MB - so this is a big improvment on the two. Don`t be fooled by the Rio600, it has a similar price, but you get less memory - it is more expandable though - up to 372MB, but you pay extra if you want more memory - in my opinion if you want a portable player with BIG memory buy the DAP ... Last year I spent months searching for the perfect mp3 player for me. I searched all over the web, all over the world trying to find what I was looking for at a price I could afford. Finally I thought I had found it: A rio500 on offer for only £90! The same day I went out and bought it and I must say I was impressed. The rio500 has a great set of specifications and looks great too. It has 64Mb of in-built memory which is enough for about an hour of CD-quality music (128kb/s) and also has a smartmedia slot in the top of the player so extra memory can be put in if wanted. So far so good... When you switch it on and start listening the quality is quite good ... Read the complete review

The main advantage of listening to your tunes in MP3 format is you can select the tunes that you want and compile them all onto your MP3 player with no need for discs. Doesn’t that just sound too good to be true? The Diamond Rio 500 is a brilliant choice for an MP3 player purchase. Rio was the first company on the MP3 scene, which gives them ultimate experience. They have gone through a barrage of court cases that the MP3 revolution has brought. Until record labels get their act together and put MP3's on the Internet legally you might as well get 'em free from servers like Napster or sites such as www.mp3chart.com/. So why is the Rio ... I love this player! It cost me £199.99 from PC World, and has 64MB of memory onboard, with expansion slots for a further 64MB. Firstly it's looks. It is silvery (a see-through purple version is also available), and it absolutley divine. Next, how it goes. It works brilliantly. The installation is great, and because it's USB getting up and running is as easy as eating pie. (mmmmm pie...) The installation manual could be written like this: 1. Buy rio 500 2. Stick in USB Cable to pc 3. Stick cable into player 4. load cd 5. go! It really is that easy. Power consumption is also great at about 12 hours to a single ... Read the complete review
