Advantages: great picture, cheap, good menus

Disadvantages: remote

This is a low to midrange player and is available from
many locations.
Primarily Region 2, it can handle VCDs Cds and DVDs. Region 1 access is possible by a mod chip from Techtronics, or by a code on the handset (WARNING will work for only 25 region changes before it permanently sets). There are a 710s available from Richer Sounds which are already region 1-4 capable for a little extra.

Picture Quality - The picture on my Sony 28” widescreen TV is outstanding, any decent scart cable will ensure a crisp picture. Occasional problems with over dark DVDs means changing the TV settings. I have found dimming the room lights helpful as well.

Sound quality - The sound is as good as the picture, flawless in what it is doing. Does not handle DTS sound.

Menu Quality - the onboard software is easy to use, and looks good.

Remote - the worst part of the system, undersized flimsy and under featured

Overall, a good player at a very reasonable price
