Advantages: easy to contact people in emergencies

Disadvantages: possible link to brain tumours, in some places where there are no masts, you can't use your phone

I carry a mobile phone with me all times. I rarely use it, but I need it to contact my mother when I'm going to be home late. Otherwise she'll panic and before I know it, there'll be a national search for me.

If I am ever in an accident, then I guess I could call 999 for help. My mobile could save me. But I have a nasty feeling it's also killing me.

Many scientists claim that mobile phones can cause brain tumours. Yet no one knows if this is really true, so as a society, we're ignoring the facts. The same thing happened with smoking. No one knew if it would harm you, so they didn't bother being cautious. Thousands of people took up the habit. Thousands of people now have taken up mobile phone packages.

Maybe in a decade or so we'll discover that we should have listened to the warnings of all these scientists. Maybe, just maybe. But for now, I'm happy getting my brain fried, and I'm keeping my mobile on me...
