Will someone please explain to me why the world and his wife need mobile phones. I can accept that they can be invaluable in a working situation, though that is probably speaking from a management position because staff can no longer disappear for ten minutes, but why do the housewives in Tesco need to phone someone three or four times before completing their shopping and is there no person left on this earth besides myself who relishes in their own private space or time, being able to be alone without fear of accusations of 'why was your mobile turned off' or 'where were you' Technology is great but my private space matters and I am not that insecure that I need to be constantly available to others demands. If I was climbing a mountain or clinching an important deal - sure I would have a mobile, but until then - leave me my life.
