I suppose like a lot of people I don't admit to watching too much television. However, when our old Hitachi finally collapsed in a puff of smoke and wouldn't function any more I soon made sure I bought a replacement. Just for my wife, of course! She likes a couple of the soaps and I do 'sometimes' watch the sport. I went for another Hitachi, primarily because the old one had given us such excellent service. I went for a 28", wide screen model with a 3DS Spatial Sound system. Well it impressed my wife, but quite honestly I wasn't absolutely sure what it meant. I have since learnt, after using the television and ... Read the complete review

Maybe you`ll find this useful. 21(1980)years ago, when moving in my house, I went out shopping for a TV. With no real experience in what was a good buy, and not a load of money, I went in a TV shop. The man serving was late 50`s, I asked him,`what is the most reliable TV you have, I don`t want one that will break down next year?` He told me, in all the years he had worked in the shop, he couldn`t remember one complaint about Hitachi....he wasn`t trying to sell me one as there were loads of TV`s a lot more expensive in the shop.....so I looked about, & decided to take his word for it, it wasn`t too expensive, & I chose the cheapest Hitachi in the shop. ... I've never reviewed a television before but i'm so chuffed with mines that i just have to give you a little heads up on this great product. as it states above it's a Hitachi 37" LCD running at the not so shabby 1080p True HD. I bought mines from amazon.co.uk and at the time i payed £670 for it which i reckon was a very reasonable price for a higher resolution set. The design is sleek black with a silver panel running along the base where the built in speaker set is, mostly all of the inputs and controls are hidden in the back apart from the buttons on the side which are quite well blended in and barely ... I feel i have to write this as i have just experienced the EXCELLENT customer service department of Hitachi. I won a 28" TV in a Sky Digital prize draw, with the TV being delevered direct from Hitachi. I was contacted to arrange a conveinient delivery time, which was met by the couriers. When the TV arrived it did not include a stand, and the TV was too big to go on the stand i already had. I rang Hitachi direct who advised the stand for the model TV i had won could be purchased direct from Hitachi for £24.95, which i thought was more than reasonable. They advised the address to send the cheque. I posted the chque and was amazed when ... Read the complete review

I am currently renting my Hitachi 28" Nicam Television and I am very happy with it (touch wood!) Each time a new model comes out I am able to upgrade to the newer one. The picture is very sharp and the Nicam sound is second to none. I must admit to not being too keen on the Hitachi name as I've had a couple of products with their name before, but the television is great, unlike the Hitachi Nicam video recorder which I am also renting! The remote control is very easy to work with all the necessary buttons to hand. It has fastext, meaning that you can often use coloured buttons to reach a teletext page. The instruction booklet is very clearly set out, ... Read the complete review
