Philips - maybe not as good looking as the Samsung but pack a punch (General Philips TV Opinions)

I purchased a 26" Philips TV for the bedroom about a year ago now from John Lewis.

Coming with the 5 year warranty, this was well worth spending the extra £50 to the cheapest price I cuold find elsewhere.

Knowing that I can watch a HD DVD in bed on my 26" television (which is more than sufficient for the bedroom), and if anything breaks it'll be under warranty for the next 4 years, is a good bit of peace of mind. Most retailers charge £5 a month anyway for extended warranties, so within 10 months the extra £50 has paid for itself, over 5 years this would have actually saved me £200!

I lvoe the TVs design and simplicity, keeping the buttons to the side and keeping the front plain. The colour is rich and has plenty of tweaks for viewing purposes (easily switchable between media/personal/movie modes).

If you want to spend a little bit extra, Philips is the next in Line. Places such as Asda and Tesco retail these now, but shop around online for a bargain. I also recommend Currys as I have found their customer servcie was great on the Samsung TV we purchased.

The remote is simple and easy to use and the TV is fairly light and doesn't get too hot.

I've had no issues whatsoever with this TV yet, so reliability points have to be 5/5!

It also looks pure gold and looks so much bigger than a 26 in a bedroom!

Summary: Overall a great television maker, haven't heard any bad news about them
