A few months back, I needed to replace my television for my bedroom, as my original one took the knock. I required a decent size one, nothing too big and nothing fancy like wide-screen, just a nice TV to watch, so I took a look in my girlfriends catalogue. I came across a “Samsung CZ20F2N, 20 inch Nicam Stereo”, which looked nice and neat, and at £199 I thought yeah that looks ok, so I ordered it, yes I know, it is only about £160 in the shops, unfortunately I didn’t have the cash, so I had no choice. I bought a brand new Samsung TV from my local Scottish Power store. The picture and sound quality were perfect during the period covered by the warranty, but, shortly after this time things started to go wrong. The picture started to flick on and off, the sound started to whistle, and finally the whole set went pop. It's fine. And that's about it, really - it does exactly what it's supposed to, the picture and sound are good but not remarkable. The colours are even and the picture doesn't seem to distort. The sound is fine, but slightly tinny in the same way as the speakers in virtually every other cheap set. It's a really nice-looking set - silver and nicely curved, unlike all the other low-end sets I've seen. The remote control it easy to use, and the on-screen menus are very straightforward. It seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to selecting the picture ratio - sometime you go on to a channel and it changes the ratio, sometime ...
