Advantages: Price, Sound, Picture

Disadvantages: Remote control

Buy one, be moved. This is beginning to sound like the Mazda ad.

The Toshiba 2950XMJ, Dramatic V, 28 system television that I bought four years ago, was probably my most useful purchase.

I paid around PDS 400.00 for it at that time and it was later on that I found out that my friends had been splashing 50% and even more on other brands like Sony and Sharp, at the same time that I bought mine.

When you think Televisions then Toshiba is not one that comes to mind. Maybe they don’t advertise as much as the other producers but believe you me I would rank them at least amongst the top three.

Firstly you have to look at the price. They are unbelievable cheap compared to the other Japanese brands.
Also the sound that emanates from this television is astonishing. Surround speakers on both sides on the television, running from the top down to the bottom.

Music program’s especially sound great and you get a full emphasis on how good the sound is.

My only negative view of this television is its remote control. It’s really quite cumbersome and after a time the buttons have to be pressed harder and harder to access the function you are looking for.
Mind you with the saving’s you will incur, if you bought this television, you could afford to buy another remote or a Universal remote, very gladly.

Picture quality is also excellent with a screen size of 29”. Some of my friends, who also have 29” telly’s with different brands, swear that this one looks bigger.

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve had mine for four years and never had any problems with it. The only thing I’ve changed is the remote control.

I’ve presently got my decoder, video, Nintendo 64 and Sound system all connected into individual sockets at the back of the telly.

I give this 9 out of 10 and would strongly urge anyone out there, who’s in the market for a new te
levision, to at least look at the Toshiba Range. I’m sure you’ll not regret it.

We've got a Toshiba 28" Nicam upstairs and the picture quality is excellent. Colours are rich and the picture is very sharp. We also have a 14" tosh and its very basic, but the picture quality is good.
