I used to work in the industry and i've heard a lot of horror stories about electrical equipment exploding after a few weeks however there is little that I know to be true.

One of the things I can say is true is the fault level of a particular manufacturers tvs. Obviously I can't mention the name but it's not Toshiba, basically 1 in every 5 sets has a fault within the first week. Now that is quite worrying! Tosh however have one of the best reputations for quality and reliablity in the industry!!

The picture quality in my opinion is far superior to othe brand such as Sony and Hitachi and the sound (particularly with the Dolby Digital sets) is comparable to having hi-fi seperates!!

They've got it all covered in terms of connectivity with all the new sets having at least 2 or more (usually 3) scarts and some with s-video and component video inputs.

The only let down is possibly the on screen displays look a bit dated but all the features are there and easily accessible so who cares what they lookmlike eh?

Also Tosh are one of the last manufactures who still provide free telephone tech support so it won't run your phone bill up either.

If you're looking to buy a new TV then maybe there are cheaper TV's but in terms of reliability you would probably be shelling out more in the long run.
