Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Possible long set up time / RSI
The one 4 all universal remote control does exactly what is says on the tin.
Basically it is a remote controller designed to operated upto five different audio visual devices e.g. TV, VCR, DVD, cable, satellite therefore making life a bit easier
The setup procedure I found to be fairly straighforward although its not all that quick.
My TV, a modern Panasonic model, cleverly worked with the first code I entered. You are supplied with a booklet containing literally hundereds of 4 digit codes - you look up your brand, key in the code, and hey presto it works, mainly.
Some of my other devices did not work straight off with the supplied codes, so you have to go through a procedure with your device switched on of pressing a key repetedly until it turns off. This method works it just takes some time and could render you with a bit of RSI!
Once programmed correctly it works just fine, the buttons are laid out well and the timer and clock function is handy.
The only point I would like to make is that this is a universal remote to stop you having to use 5 differnet controls, its not suitable as a replacement for lost or damaged controls as it doesn't give you some of the more complex set up commands you sometimes need.
Summary: Does what it does, quite well
