THE PROBLEM Never one to turn a good gadget away, especially in the audio-visual line, means that I've accumulated a fair few remote controls over the years. There's the one for the Sony TV, which gives ONLY partial control over my Sony VCR too. Then there's the one for the Sony VCR, which gives, you guessed it, partial control of the Sony TV. Oh yes, AND I've got a second JVC VCR complete with? yes, a remote control. The Yamaha CD player gets one of its own, which is capable of 'synchro-starting' the Yamaha Cassette deck but beyond that, it's not too clever. Ever lost the remote control? Spent hours searching for it down the back/side/underneath of the sofa? The chances are that you have done, as with so many electronic gadgets easily affordable now you are likely to have a nice collection growing in your front room. One for the TV, one for the video, one for the hi-fi, one for the DVD, one for the amplifier, one for the satellite/cable …. The list is ever growing!
