With this unit you do not need a CD player and a DVD player because it is both built in one with a library storage of 200 discs. I know all DVD players will play a CD but this one is especially made for both so you don’t need two units. This is a pretty big and heavy unit weighing 21 pounds and 13 ounces. This has been a great choice of dvd player. I did have a Samsung (woolies cheepo) but this was recalled. So I bought a Sony DVP cx850D. It holds 200 dvds, of which i've filled 100 slots so far. Its really easy to put in more CDs. It has a great on screen menus(it has little pictures for different catagories of films) and a good range of outputs including digital outputs.Many of the features, well, I never really touch them as it can all be done from the remote control. The remote looks a little strange with its shuttle control. It looks like a little joypad. I programmed all the remote functions into my Merantz controller. It worked really well.
