Advantages: Non-stick surface makes cooking easier, Great reputation of Tefal

Disadvantages: None

As someone who is interested in cooking, albeit recipes that aren't too complicated requiring lots of ingredients, I have had many pots and pans over the years. One of my worst buys was a 5 piece non-stick pan set from a local chain store for the unbelievably cheap price of £9.99. Needless to say, within 14 months or so (just in time for the guarantee to be invalid!) the pans surfaces had started to blister and the handles loosened. (As the handles were welded on, not screwed on, nothing could be done. Very dangerous!)

After this little episode I used my loaf - so to speak - and bought a decent set from Tefal. They cost more, but I still use them and I know I'll never be let down by them. The one pan I was really pleased with though was one I bought separately, a Tefal pancake pan which I bought through QVC - The Shopping Channel. I had never thought I needed a special pancake pan before and had always used an ordinary frying pan. My pancakes had been so-so but nothing to write home about.

After using the Tefal pancake pan, my pancakes were to die for! (Even though I say it myself!) The actual recipe and ingredients for pancakes is written in big letters on the back of the pan, and I use that. They turn out really scrummy. The pan has very low straight sides to it, making it easy to remove or toss the pancake, unlike an ordinary pan which has sloped sides. Because of the novel way Tefal have included the recipe on the back of the pancake pan, it would look good hung up in the kitchen. Of course the pancakes never stick. It also has a 'Thermospot' in the middle of the pan. This is a novel idea from Tefal; as you heat the pan on the hob the spot changes colour, which tells you the pan is hot enough. I don't know how many times in the past I have thought a pan is hot enough only to find when I've tipped in the food that it just sits there without cooking because it's still too cool. No more mistakes with the The
rmospot technique.

I can't praise Tefal enough. They have been around for many years and their reputation is spotless. They get my vote every time.
