Better than BT Cellnet! (Virgin Mobile in general)

Advantages: Great service, great value.

Disadvantages: Initial cost of purchasing the 'phone is relatively expensive.

Having got fed up of paying 35p a minute for calls on my BT Cellnet pre-pay mobile, I decided to join Virgin mobile. Unfortunately, the unhelpful BT Cellnet said that I couldn't move my existing number to another network because I hadn't had the 'phone for more than 12 months, and even then I would have to pay £25.00, so that made me determined to leave the BT Cellnet rip-off!

Having paid for my 'phone outright (meaning Virgin don't subsidise it and then claim the cost back in future charges) over the 'phone at 7.00pm on a Thursday evening, it was delivered free of charge at noon the next day. That's what I call service! Now I pay 10p per text message, 15p for the first 5 minutes of landline calls each day, and then 5p a minute after that, no line rental, free voicemail retrieval (that cost 35p a minute on BT Cellnet!) and no hidden charges. With pre-pay vouchers, I can keep a check on costs, although already I have saved significant amounts of money than if I had still been with BT Cellnet. The only downside is that it is still 35p a minute to call mobile 'phones, but I can live with that!
