Disadvantages: May not be as simple as it looks!

I guess that most people have seen the Virgin mobile advert with the bloke who turns up in a big truck and is made out to be saviour of all mobile phone owners. This bloke then rips out the existing sim card and puts in a Virgin Sim saying "go forth and make cheap calls".

He makes changing to Virgin look so simple...he just forgot to tell you that it would cost you a further £35-40 if you are on Orange to get your phone unlocked.

The great thing about buying a virgin mobile is that you have 28 days No Quibble refund period. In English that means if you buy it from v.shop or any other virgin shop then you have the option of returning it within 28 days and being entitled to a Full refund. This applies o both the sim and the phone, if you buy one.

The calls are cheap compared to the other networks and the helplines are usually answered quickly and are helpful.

As for the coverage it varies as it uses the One 2 One network, so if you are considering changing to Virgin then ask a mate who has a One 2 One phone what the coverage is like.

If you are subject to this unlocking charge, i suggest going to any Virgin mobile retailer (V.Shop,Our Price, Virgin Mega store ect...) and buying a new phone on Virgin as they are good value.
