The answer, of course, would be NO. Coming seemingly from nowhere, with absolutely no press coverage at all, I expected Aqua GT to suck hard. Unfortunately, I was right. The game itself involves powerboats racing around some of the world's most famous waterways, such as the Thames in London and the Amsterdam Canals. Although rendered well and pretty enough, the courses just aren't exciting enough. No jumps, no boosts, just boats powering along pretty straight watercourses. To add insult to injury, the gameplay absolutely SUCKS. One button to accelerate, one to brake and the analog stick to steer. Why there isn't a "Wakey Wakey" button, I don't know. The computer AI in one-player is terrible aside from, you've guessed it, the leader of the pack, who charges out to the front and stays there, never veering away from the fastest racing line however hard you may hit him. Sound wise, the game will have you reaching for the volume in seconds as the whiney boats really do grate after half a race. Multiplayer mode is pretty poor, just two of you (split screen) in straight up race against each other, with slowdown and popup present at all times. A rather expensive drinks coaster, I'm afraid...
