When Black and White started its creation process, back some 5 years ago, lots of people got excited about the many things that were promised by creator Peter Molyneux. Only now, on the PC, has this game finally been realised and most of the magazines agree that it has been worth the extra long wait for this game. So what is it about? Well, you start life as a god that is brought into creation when a small group of people beg the heavens to save their son. They lead you back to their village and very soon all the villagers are worshiping you and building you a temple. 'Easy life!' you might think, but being a god means that you'll have to decide on which way you want to play it, good or evil, hence the Black and White in the title. Before long you will have the hang of moving around the island and using the fiddly control system will get far easier. The next stage of the game is to gain a creature. Some simple tasks must be perfomed to open the doorway, then you can choose which creature you want to raise. Raising them includes teaching them right from wrong, or vice versa if you want them to be evil and teaching them how to follow your instructions. This can be difficult at times, as the creatures have a mind of their own and quite often end up running amuck in the village somewhere, usually causing damage or even eating the residents! In general this is a fun game, but one that you will only get the most out of after at least 4 or 5 hours play. Don't expect to sit down and get the hang of it straight away because it takes time and practice just to learn the control system! When this game finally appears on the Dreamcast, there is no reason to believe it will be any less visually impressive than the PC version, and this is it's first main selling point. The control system may hopefully be improved by the fact that it will be using the Dreamcast's joypad and hopefully allow in
ternet creature battles like it's PC counterpart. I will provide a full review as soon as I can play the game, but based on the PC version, it will be a must have title.

This is one of the best Dreamcast games ever and its suitable for all ages. You have to raise a creature according to your own methods. The way it turns out is dependent on how you teach it. You can become the supreme ruler of this world by using spells and magic to gain power and advantage. This is quite an easy game for anyone who is experienced in gaming and I think it gets boring after you have mastered it. However, it is an entertaining game until you win! It has just been released on pc so you don't have to own a Dreamcast to play it now. I must admit that most games are better played on a dedicated games machine though and I wonder if the graphics and speeed of this game will be as good on pc as they are on the Dreamcast.

Black and White has just been released today for the PC, and is set to destroy all records of game sales for the first week, with pre-orders on an incredible scale, but I have not heard news of the Dreamcast version for a very long time and so I have to use my opinion to voice my concerns on whether the game has been dropped! I sincerely hope it hasn't, as the great big can in the sky has enough 'to-be dreamcas' games in it already. I was really looking forward to playing online through the dreamcast's 33.6k modem, and even though it may be out on the PC, I prefer playing games on a games console! I wanted to create my own animal monster thingy and pit it up against the Japanese's creations! I wanted to rule the online world that should have been available to DC owners, and perhaps it has but I haven't heard anything about the release for a very long time! Peter Molleneux may well be one of the most respected games designers, but if his game never appears, then I'll complain personally! Let's hope it does, as this shoulod be one of the great classics of 2001! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~KINGDANECAD~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OK I have just finished my research and I can tell you that the game hasn't been released yet, and therefore I ultimately cannot tell you how amazing the game is or isn't, but from July the sixth you should be able to get the Dreamcast version. Basically it's a God-sim, with a great difference. The graphics on the PC version look incredible from all the screen shots etc. and the DC game should be even better. You have to pit your created animal against others, feeed it and looked after it - the environment in which you take your creature will have great effects on it's appearance, mood, and fighting ability. It's bound to be one of the strangest games you'll ever play, but I am sure it'll be one of the greatest. I'll be getting the PC version for now I h
ope, but if you're hanging around for the DC version, you better get reading some reviews! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Control a monkey, a baboon, or maybe even a lion and see how they evolve! Make people do tasks for you and generally play the role of god, with your animal at your command! The game is a revelation in terms of gameplay and graphics, and the general style is very Mollenieux. Priced at around £34.99 for the PC version, this is expected to be the number one selling game across the world for a very long time, with the console versions appearing real soon - B & W is an absolute gem.
