I have had this game for years but still play it these days. I have never thought if there was a Bust a Move 1,2 or 3, but this came out when I had not long had my Playstation, so this game was the 1 I chose. I would imagine if there was other ones in the series then they would be much the same kind of game, so this should technically be the most up to date one.
My husband hates this game and doesn't see the point of it, but since I have always been a fan of Tetris and Columns (if anyone remembers that game) then i'm all about matching the colours and all that.
So what is this game. Well first of all you choose a character to play. There is qutie a few character to play with, and you get a few new characters later in the game when you have completed a few of the levels. All the characters really do the same thing. You see the little character at the bottom of the screen and they don't do all that much apart from look happy if you are winning or look sad if you aren't. So you pick your character, so what is next?
The idea of this game is that the screen is mostly made up of a square where you see different coloured bubbles. You shoot bubbles to match the colours and once you match 3 or more Bubbles this will pop the bubbles therefore creating a space on the screen. The idea is that you have to keep matching and popping until the level is finished and then you move onto a new level. The levels do get a bit harder as they go on - as is the case with games. You can play this in a 2 player mode which can be a laugh as when you get rid of your Bubbles then this will add more bubbles onto your opponants screen so gives them more work to clear the area. It's easy enough to line the shooter up and aim the bubbles where you want them to go.
The graphics don't look that special and although this is an old game now then even thinking about when this was first out then I felt that the graphics were not great. I guess it doesn't have to be all flash and fancy though. Music is alright. It is just simple instumental music.
Overall this is just a fun game to play. Yes, there isn't really anything to it, but it's fun nontheless
This was one of the first playstation games I got when I was nine! I thought it was awesome then, I still do now! I even want to play the game now, sadly I can't find it on the internet and I sold my playstation a few years ago.
The game is the 4th Bust a move and it's twice as better as the previous ones as it has a story line where the rainbow bubbles have gone missing and you can visit and play a range of characters including princesses, dinosaurs, bats, indians, mermaids, fairies and all the magical things/creatures you can think of! It's pretty wicked! and you can visit their worlds too to under water, ice castles, fair grounds and evil caves. So you can visit the world of bust a move and explore the magic!
The game is in eight rounds (the story) and you have to keep pressing continue every time you loose a game otherwise it's game over!
You can also play battles with other characters - which is good if you fancy a challenge.
Or instead of playing the story with all characters, why not play the a game with your chosen character's story and then visit a mini magical world!
You can either play on your own or as a battle pair - personally playing on your own you have more choice of game!
I still love this game like I did ten years ago and I'm trying to find the game on the internet so I can download it but it has to cost free - but it's really addicting so I could be play the game for hours and hours even days!
I first played this game a few months back now having always played Tetris and wanted to try something a bit different. I found this to be great fun and made a change to playing the likes of Tetris. It is also highly addictive.
Bust A Move 4 is similar to Tetris. The idea of the game is to shoot out coloured bubbles and try to match up three or more bubbles of the same colour. The ultimate objective is to clear the screen of bubbles. It gets more interesting in 2-player mode. By clearing the coloured bubbles you get to put more bubbles into your opponents screen and the other way round. It is a real challenge even though the game sounds simple.
There are many different difficulty levels from very easy where there is a dotted line to help you aim your bubbles to very difficult where the bubbles stack up faster and faster. There are levels that are more challenging so children or adults will find it fun.
There are many varied games you can play in Bust a Move 4. There are all bubble puzzle games but they each have different challenges to them. You can play a storybook mode where you play against a variety of different critters in a plot style context. You can play a basic one-on-one game against another player or the computer. In addition there is also competition play where you can see how many levels you can win in a row.
There are also a variety of characters you can play as. Some of these are hidden until you've reached certain levels in the game. You have Bub the green dinosaur and Pocky who is an electric cat, and then there is Monsta who is a fish amongst others.
The music and sound are good. Each of the characters has a different voice and they all say and do unique things. The graphics are not ground breaking by any means but still nice enough. The bright use of colours are good and appealing and enhances the fun aspect of the game. Overall, this is a very enjoyable and addictive game that I would recommend to anyone and especially if you liked Tetris.
Bust a move is just a classic game, which nealry everyone will enjoy. In single player mode you can either do time battles, go through the alphabet or play against the computer. The only thing about the game is when playing against the computer it can be extremely annoying, when the computer seems to do them immpossible moves. Although because of this it can make the game extremely addictive, and all the other modes which are available in the game. This is also an excellent game to play against other players, it can be really frustrating when your new to the game but you will soon get the hang of it. It is also a good game to have for the kids, as all the characters in the game are pretty much adorable and the graphics will suck the kids in, however the graphics are not really that great but i would recommend this game to any age group.
I have all the Bust a Move games and this one is just as good as the others. It is great, you need to have quick reactions to play and also to be able to think ahead. Once you have played it a few times you will soon get the hang of it. It is really addictive and you can easily spend hours playing it.
If you play with friends it is great especially when you learn the tricks.
Children as young as 3 could play this, and adults as old as you like. No age limit, also it is just good fun.
What a addictive game for £9.99 Developors: Taito Publishers: Acclaim HOW GOOD IT PLAYS AND ENJOYMENT It plays great but is similar to the other Bust-A-Move games. This is 100% cert that all ages can play the game, nearly anyway. It is easy to get in to the game especially when the game give you help at the menu. It is really fun when the game lasts. WHAT TO DO You have to launch the bubbles from the launching table and get rid of the bubbles before they go over the deadline set. To get rid of the bubbles you have get three or more touching bubbles of the same color. You finish the level or game if the bubblles go over the line or the is now more bubbles on the screen. Sometimes in one player levels you have to carry on, because the level may load up another screen for you to finish. You also will get special bubbles in the game. STAR BUBBLE: It is a special bubble because it can take a lot of bubbles away. When it touches a color it will eliminate all the same colors from the screen. RAINBOW BUBBLE: When the attached bubble is elminated, the Rainbow Bubble will turn into the same color. JAMA-BLOCK: You can not eliminate this bubble, only make it drop. You can still clear the round even if this block is left on the screen. FULCRUM BLOCK: This is the block that you can eliminate only if you eliminate all the attached bubbles. ANTI-GRAVITY BLOCK: This is the block that tries to float upwards. The bubbles(the chunk) that are attached to this block also float upwards. Fulcrum Block, Jama Block and Fulcrum Block will become a normal Fulcrum Block once they hit the ceiling. The way to eliminate this block is the same as the Fulcrum Block. ADDICTIVENESS It is really addictive especially when the game gets harder on all the game modes. You won't get tired of it during the game, you will keep coming back for some more also it doesn't have many faults in the ga
me. ORIGINALITY Is good. The story plot is quite original, it is quite understandable and it is really not unoriginal. Though the characters names or not original and where they come from as well, but kids will like that but not adults. GRAPHICS Is ok, some puzzle games have rubbish graphics and look at the addiction, playbility. But Bust-A-Move4 don't have rubbish graphics. When you are playing the actual game the bubbles look bold and bright and the characters look fantastic as it has detail on them, the effects are also up to scratch. There is also backrounds in the game but the game blocks some of it, but still it brightens up the screen. Though the menus look dull and unispiring which doesn't matter that much. Also if the Taito did some fancy graphics on the game, it could have better graphics than what they already. SOUND It changes with different characters and the when the bubble burst and chain effects make noise but clash when both characters do chain effects. The characters voices are brilliant though, also there is some backround music as well it depends on the character though you are facing. DIFFICULTY It becomes harder when you progess through the game. You sometimes have to think quick about your next move and sometimes long. It is hard, you might also have very long levels. VALUE FOR MONEY It is great for a tenner one of the best games for a tenner alongside Bishi Bashi Special,Theme Park World and Duke Nukem:Land of the Babes. And is definetly one of the best puzzles games on the Psone. OVERALL A great game with addiction but would have got 5/5 but for the graphics. GAME MODES ************ Puzzle (Arcade Version) You basically go to zones then when you are in the final zone the game will be finished and you have then completed it. RATING:7/10 Puzzle (Story Version) When you complete a stage, which has five l
evels in each one, you will obtain a tarot card, when you have got the 26 cards, the game is complete. This is the best one-player mode on the game without a doubt. The levels are sometimes difficult and sometimes easy, this will be enjoyable. Also depending on the character you select, the story will differ. RATING:9/10 Player VS. CPU (Story) You play against the characters trying to get the bubbles back from two secret characters, the mode is pretty easy but you might get stuck in one or two matches. RATING:7/10 Player VS. CPU (Win Contest) You get secret characters from this if you keep winning but is very easy unless you don't do chain attacks. RATING:6/10 Player VS. Player Is very addictive and you can have handicap games as well, the game gets you hooked against your opponent because of the chain attacks which liven the game up and because of the advantages. RATING:9/10 Edit Mode: You can make 25 rounds of the game, you then have to complete it, and it is great way to try against your mates to see how they fare, you can make your own tornament if you want between your mates. RATING:8/10 Characters: Bub and Bob Develon Alkanet Marino Kurol Tam-Tam Cleon G Bramb Gigant And there is secret characters as well but not telling you how many there is or who they are, play the game if you want to know.
