"Caesar's Palace II" is a casino game based on a long standing series of the same name. It is an adult gaming title which features such casino gambling hits as Roulette, Poker, Keno and Blackjack. There is no immediately obvious storyline in this title. It is simply a matter of gambling and winning high stakes.
Gameplay is presented by a small character walking around the casino floor in search of games to play, controlled by using the arrow keys and "A" to select. Once a game has been chosen the player will be presented with betting options and a "deal" or "spin" function. There is no specified mode of play and a player can choose to spend unlimited time on blackjack one day and unlimited time on poker the next, for example. The player will start out with initially with $2,000 but always has access to funds should he or she drop to zero in the form of a cashier loan (which appear to be unlimited in allowance). While this takes away from any apparent challenge it does keep the player engaged with the title, which appeared to be the intention of the producers.
Graphics are crisp, clear and feature larger images for ease of viewing. Colours used were appropriate for their intended purpose, such as a red and black roulette board, and didn't waver from what would be normally found in realistic scenarios.
There is little by the way of audio to review in this title. I found the musical compositions to be somewhat unnecessary but did come across as higher in quality. There are some featured sound effects, such as the shuffling of cards and a cue which states "player wins" but these do not come across as particularly obvious in gameplay.
"Caesar's Palace II" would likely be a good casino title for a player's collection. It is somewhat simple in that one could accumulate thousands in debt without reprimand but does offer a wide variety of games to partake in.
