Conflict Desert Storm is a shooter for the Playstation 2 developed by SCi
The games story takes place during an alternate timeline when Iraq invades Kuwait, you start off the game having to rescue one of your team mates who is captured and you have to complete his mission of destroying a bridge into Kuwait, you will soon be caught up in the greater conflict having to destroy the enemies weapons of mass destruction and rescue prisoners with the ultimate goal of ending the war between the two countries. The story is quite interesting as it feels like it perhaps could of happened!
The main focus of the game is its four playable characters though you only get the one as you start off but as you progress through the levels you will get the rest of your squad members back and that is when the game starts to really come into its own, you will have to use the right man for each job and the game lets you pick between whichever soldier you feel is best so this makes for some interesting play
Your squad of soldiers comprises of all round soldier John Bradley who is a pretty good bet at any point in the game proficient with assault rifles, Mick Connors is a heavy weapon guy and uses the big guns like machine guns and anti tank missiles, Paul Foley is your long range man who will pick enemies off from a distance with his sniper rifle, David Jones rounds off your crew as the medic and combat engineer who can heal your squad and is armed with mines and a shotgun.
The game also supports co operative play which hurts and makes the games more fun at the same time, it allows you to work with a friend as he controls one of the squad and you the other which can make for some great team play but you don't have access to your full squad as obviously your mate has to control someone!
Graphics aren't too bad with a reasonable level of detail, though nothing that will wow you after playing the more modern shooters of today.
Conflict Desert Storm is a really unique and fun game to play thanks to the squad of soldiers you have to play with.
