Advantages: oooooooooooo, somehing to talk about
Disadvantages: ooooooooooo, what will we talk about?
I Hate School. One of my main reasons for hating that God Damn thing is the GameCube, Nintendo?s latest super console, which was released about a week ago, on the 3rd 2002.
I got it on its release date and, after begging numerous times to my mother about staying off, she let my come out of school at break. I wasn?t in my lessons anyway; I was on a distant planet, playing Luigi?s mansion and others.
There was another delay before I finally got my hands on the thing; I had to drive over to Bradford for the weekend. A 1-hour drive sat staring at my cube. It was hell, I can guarantee you that.
When I got my first chance, it was like Deano76 jumping on a ticket for a free ton of Belgian chocolate. I ripped open the box and whipped the indigo cube out, plonked it on the floor, clipped on the screen and proceeded to play on it until I went out (to Casa Pizza in Clayton Deano, you should try it).
I forgot to tell you the package I got, didn?t I? Well here it is then, the package I bought from Toy?s ?r? us:
Game Cube console (including a control pad - indigo) (£130)
Control Pad (Unofficial)
Clip on Screen
Memory Card (above 3 about £100 all together)
Crazy Taxi (see my previous opinion)
Dave Mirra 2
Legends of Wrestling (Above 4 are £40 each)
Carry Case (£15)
Total Cost if bought individually: £405
Package Costed: £300
Also, Toys ?r? Us messed up my order so, instead of getting Dave Mirra and Legends of Wrestling I got Extreme G3 Racing, Sonic Adventure 2 and Star Wars. So it would of costed in the region of £450! Not bad is it? Getting £150 off the best console in the world?
Now I shall give you just a brief insight into the history of this majestic console:
GameCube is the next generation console for Nintendo. All Nintendo consoles usually take cartridges. Not this one as it takes mini DVD?s (stops pirating).
nally called the Dolphin and then the Star Cube, the details of this console were first released at E3, the world?s biggest games show, in May 2000.
It has many bright games and contains the first ever game that Luigi has had the starring role, in favour of his brother, who takes up the role of being kidnapped for his brother to rescue.
I know that the History wasn?t so long or even insightful, but I was all I could muster up. Now for the technical specifications:

Do not ask me what any of the above was, but, as Deano has said before, somebody will probably stab me in the back if I don?t put these on and let you all have a sleep while trying to make sense of it.
Okay, forget about the disaster that just happened above and lets get on to my opinion.
For those of you who have never played on the GameCube, I shall be your instructor today. Please keep your arms and legs inside the opinion at all times and do not taunt the author as he has a tendency to take his shirt off.
The graphics on the console are unrivalled. You only need to look at Luigi?s mansion to prove this. What Sony game has the amount of detail this has? The way he whistles along to the tuna; the way he jumps when a ghost appears in front of him; the nervous shaking of his hand as you watch him turn the knob of a new rooms door handle. It is all just so magnificent.
The music is also crispy clear. I know that it matters which TV that you have got, but, believe me, once you have heard your commands being blurted out On Star Wars or the roar of the engine on Extreme G3 Racing, you shall know what I mean.
The design of the console maybe a little strange but, unlike the PS2 and the X Box it is small, compact and, most of all, looks very cool. Where as the X Box just looks like an early nineties VCR and the PS2 just looks bland, the GC just oozes with pure and utter class.
It also comes in a range of different colours, unlike its main competitors. You can currently get 2 different colours; Original Indigo and Sleek Black. Both look cool and there is another coming out called ?spice?. Do not be put off by the name, it is just orange.
The controllers are the best I have ever had the pleasure to use. They just slip perfectly into your hands. The buttons are placed in positions that are instinctive to you. It may look a bit like a rip off of the world-renowned Playstation control pad, but once you have tried it, you will, again, know what I mean.
You can also get this in a range of different colours. Black and Indigo are the main ones and you can get a few variations. They cost £25 for an offi
cial. Do NOT get a fake, you can tell the difference.
The memory card may not have a load of space, but what it does have is 59 spaces, which is quite a lot to say it is only 4mb in size. They are also quite small as well. The bad thing about that is that they would be easy to lose. I don?t have an official one, but it does the same job. These cost about £15 - £20.
Overall, this console is magnificent and a must buy for any die hard Nintendo Fan / Gamer. If you think that the Ps2 was good, strap your seat belts; it?s going to be one hell of a ride
