In a world of endless FIFA sequels and poor licenced games (Pele, Ryan Giggs, Manchester United: The Double etc.), an underdog from the East was released on an unsuspecting public. Konami didn't know what they had started. Sure, FIFA was a good, fun game and had a MASSIVE following, but ISS was a purer simulation of the beautiful game. ISS on the SNES was the best 16-bit version by far. It was the first title to have full audio commentary and challenges to complete, based on real life match situations. It controls like a dream, sounds great and if you've played it in your younger days, you won't be disappointed to hear that it's still as good as it ever was. Just make sure you stock up on extra controllers......
