Advantages: Good for people who like dying
Disadvantages: Get to play for about 1 minute before death
I enter the website, lots of nice rendered pictures scattered all over the place, its looking good. The download isn't huge but big enough to be a decent game. I read the basics on the game as the % counter slowly increases.
Once installed I 'Boot her up' and logon creating my own empire ready to rule the universe. I have to say I was initially impressed with the graphics with hundreds of good looking ships in 3D on the screen.
Right next step where's my ship?
Ten minutes later I've worked out how to fly my ship out of the port, right time to settle a planet. Erm, where's my ship? Where my ship was is now 5 little ships flying around almost mocking me.
Okay maybe its just an isolated incident, so I create a whole new empire and once again on leaving the station - boom she's gone.
I decide maybe it's hunt a newbie day and decide to try another day. To my surprise my settler this times actually makes to a planet surface. Back to the manual again to find out how to make a settlement. Seems quite simple and I have a little town in no time, well okay in a bit of time as the system is even more basic than Dune II's but I'm still hoping the game is hard to get into and it's a jewel in reality.
Then I made a huge mistake, I went to get a coffee. I came back to find my once proud base wasn't there any more just a few tanks and my settler was no where to be found.
After screaming at the computer for a bit I decided Mankind wasn't for me.
