A game from Studio 33 and Psygnosis. Newman Hass Racing is based on the American Card racing series, It is very similar to formula one and some people say it is better, Including me. Just watch the intro sequence. Now three years old you should pick this up pretty cheap. The game is set out in the same way as most formula one games, You get a free practice to test your car set-up, Qualifying to get that all important grid position and race. With this game you get to race on some different tracks. Road America, Emmerson Fitipaldi speedway and my favourite Laguna Seca. There are ten tracks to start with and four locked away until you have won the championships. And you get to play as some of the best drivers, Christian Fitipaldi, Mark Blundell, Bryan Herta and many more. This game is a dream to anyone who loves setting game options. There is a race set-up for number of laps, pit stops, tyre wear and engine failure. A car set-up for turbo's, break assist and stressing assist. Skill level and many more. You also get a History so you can read all about the tracks and drivers. The cars and tracks look good but now a bit dated and slightly Grainy. The cars move fast and handle well except in a crash. You get a decent commentary but a little repetitive at times. A few camera angles to choose from, And you get to see the pit crew work on your car. It is a good game but not the best and might only appeal to Cart fans, But with all those different tracks it might be worth buying instead of one of the many Formula one games.
