Road Rash games have been around for a while now. Back then it was all about racing five courses with a huge selection of bikes and fighting for your place. Now this Road Rash game is completely different to when it was first created. It is more sophisticated than before.
At the beginning of the game in one player mode you have to choose from two motorcyle gangs to join up with. One is a karate based fighting gang who are all about speed, and the other is a rough Harley type gang that you wouldn't mess with. Both of the gangs have tasks for you to undertake and races for you to win. Your aim is to climb the charts to be commander of the gang you have chosen. However it won't be easy. The tracks increase in difficulty as you get better and the bike's increase in power. You not only have to worry about holding the road, but also fighting off other racers however you can.
Graphically the game is superb on the the Playstation. The bike models are fantastic and so are the riders. The environments are nice as well.
The replay value of this game is very high due to some excellent features. There are a variety of modes such as two player single race, cooperative, and tournament. There is also a very cool mini game where you can be a cop. Your goal is to try to rise in ranks at the station by catching gangsters. There is a variety of ways to complete each of these missions, and proves to be very addictive. In the regular game there is a map of a town and it's outskirts. The tracks go all over the map and are different each time. There is a total of 18 plus tracks for your racing pleasure, and they are wide open. You can take your custom alternate routes and such, just try not to get lost. This game is very fun and will keep you playing for a few weeks at least.
This game is a good game that I recommend to those who enjoy racing games and fighting.
I think that this is a fairly good PS1 game, especially for its time, about 1998. You can play as one of 5 characters, or be a cop. The races are called Wild Races and the cop role is just called Cop Patrol. They are both fun. In each, you get weapons, like whips, to hit your opponents off of their motorcycles. There is a two player mode in each game, except Cop Patrol. However, when you first play it, you may think that it is the ultimate playstation bomb. Once you've played it for an hour and a half or so, it will become very repetitive, but it will still remain an excellent "show your friends" game, or just a great party game. For each player, you get powerups, like electric rods that you can whack the other players with. And, with such a low price, you might as well try it if you have a PlayStation 2, 1, or X.
Spaz, the greatest rasher ever, is in prision and you need to get him out!. Once again Road Rash the game that mixes fast paced motorbike racing with hardcore fighting is back (and once again in full 3-D!).
