Ronaldo V Football for the Playstation was my best football game to play on the PS1 console. The game was named after the Brazilian star and featured international teams in the game and there was one cup to win which was the V Cup in the game.
Well if anyone still has a playstation one and has the chance to play this game let me tell you what I know about it! It certainly is a game worth playing! Shame they do not make a new version for the PS3 or something similar!
What made this game was special was the game play! The game play was really good, it was tricky to score. The CPU was very good it just made the matches very much fun to play! The weather used to change just like modern day games you get a lot of good features were included in this game!
There was only one mode in the game to play which was the V Cup. That was the slight disadvantage to the game because after you finished winning that you do get bored of playing the game!
In my opinion though its still one of the best games for the PS1. It was much different to the Fifa series games you had back then! Its a shame the developer did not release something similar to the game! I would certainly buy another game from the makers if they did for the PS3!
Overall if you still own a Playstation 1 and are a football fan, you have not played a footy game on there until you Play Ronaldo V Football!
Used to love this game for the Playstation, it is a football game endorsed by the great Brazilian Ronaldo, who was at the time at the top of his game but has sadly now faded away, what a great talent he was.
This game i enjoyed a lot more than other football games at the time, whether it was Fifa or Pro evolution soccer. It was a lot more difficult to play, i found fifa and pro evo at the time were far too easy and within minutes of playing them you were winning about 9 or 10 nil. With ronaldo v-footbal it took a long long time for me to be able to score and therefore felt great and really rewarding when you finally get the hang of it and do win a game.
I found the gameplay and graphics far better than fifa at the time.
A real playstation classic, recommend this to anyone wanting to play a classic football game, im sure you can pick it up now for £5-£10 online somewhere, happy gaming.
So there i am, bored out of my skull, trying to figure out what i can do to improve my boring life on my days off, then it hits me ( not LITERALLY !! ) i decide to go down to the games store and spend some of my hard earned cash on a new game or two. So i get all the way into town, and i walk into the store, and go up to my friend at the counter, and i say to him, " any new games out?" to which he bluntly replys, "No". so i decide to look around, and i see Ronaldo - V - Football. i pick it up, look at the back, and i think to myself, " why not! it IS Ronaldo after all!" so i go up to the counter pay my money and trodge home in the rain. I get home and pop this baby into my PS. and turn it on. that's where the excitement starts. The game starts up straight into a motion video of Ronaldo srutting round showing off the sort of skills that make me dribble, and that is hard to do ! when you get to the main menu, there is a number of different modes to choose from. my personal favourite - Endurance. apart from that there is a V - cup and a league mode, to mention but a few. after i decided which mode to play ( i chose Endurance ) i came to a screen asking which round i wanted to play. i chose round 1 ( the only one I COULD chose. next had to choose a team. Being the patriotic soul that i am, i was Britain. Not a bad choice over all. Each team has stats and is set into a different group - Europe, Asia, Africa, And the Americas. so i have chosen my team and i am taken to a listing of 10 teams ( or was it 9? ) and i am right at hte bottom. so i start playing, and straight before the game starts i am asked if i want to change tactics etc. i decide nott to and start playing. As soon as i kicked off i noticed how fluent the motion was, and how smooth the graphics were. they were twice as good as the FIFA games. And, some of the tricks that can be pulled off are amazing! the ball moves differentl over wet and dry surfaces, and
the people don't look as jagged as in some other football games around. Also the way the designers have made the gaolkeeper is amazing, he can actually pul off some realistic saves. Some of the bad points about this are the way the ref gives fouls for some stupid things, ( usually AGAINST you ) and how, when you are tackled, you slow down and then stop before you can go for the ball again, which is infuriating. ( That IS realistic however so.... you decide ) This is made up for however by the fact that the names are actually not cheap and are splet RIGHT ( not Seemen, Seaman ) and how sometimes flares appear behind the lines! Overall i think this game is well worth the money you pay for it ( within a certain range ) and if you are looking for a break from FIFA games, or ISS pro games, then this is it.
If Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima puts his name on it, you know its got to be good. More than 100 international teams are here to fight it out for top honors, and youll decide which one takes the prize. Try out the highly realistic Simulation mode which requires you to make substitutions and strategy shifts throughout an entire tournament or hop right into action in Arcade mode. Motion-capture animation, a great Samba soundtrack, and colorful graphics make this one incredible game.
