This was the first Legend of Zelda game I had ever played (now I have played them all!). I remember my parents got it for me for my birthday, although I can't remember which birthday. I remember playing it in a restaurant and naming each save file a different name, thinking I could play as that character (I named my first one Link (obviously), the second Zelda, and the last Smith, yikes!). I also remember getting to the first dungeon while walking around in a blockbuster. I was so immersed in the little world.
I have no cons for this game, it is tying with Wind Waker as my favorite Zelda title.
I love the graphics. How did they get so much detail into such a small screened game? It has the kind of graphics that are so charming that you want to stop at each new place and smile at how cute it is. The graphics are also quite impressive compared to other games on the GBA system at the time.
The story in this game is immersive, involved, and interesting. You play as a young boy named Link who lives with his Grandfather, Smith, just outside of Hyrule Town. Link is friends with the land's Princess, Princess Zelda, who becomes imprisoned for her power by the evil sorcerer Vaati early on in the game. Link, like in every Zelda game, has to save her with the help of his new sidekick/fashionable hat, Ezlo!
Each character is so lively and interesting. Just try pressing the select button over and over to see the amusing dialogue you get from Ezlo.
There are many side quests and so much amazing music. My favorite song has to be the one played in the Royal Crypt for sure! I'm not kidding, I have it on my iPod!
This game is overall one of the most fun, interesting, and addicting games I have ever played. I'm not lying when I say I have 100% completed this game twice (yes, including collecting all the figurines, items, kinstone fusions, and hearts) and beaten the main story countless times! I would even play it again!
I HIGHLY recommend this game to literally everyone.
The best Zelda game by far as it is modern, easy interface/action buttons, good graphics and easy on the eye.
The story: Link has to collect the four elements to bring back power to the sword the king gives him, in order to defeat the evil Vanat and rescue Princess Zelda from her statue-like appearance.
Before I played this game I had never liked Zelda, especially Four Swords but Minish Cap is brilliant and completely different.
The puzzles range from easy, medium and can be very hard at times and it can be quite frustrating! This RPG takes a lot of patience, you can't just get it all done in one go. However, it is veeery satisfying when you solve them by yourself! Personally I don't know why these games are made for kids because even I find the puzzles difficult!!
There are plenty of opportunities to explore, especially in Hyrule town. Plenty of areas which you can see on the screen but can't access can leave you frustrated but these are always unlocked at a later stage and its great when you can go anywhere.
I would not recommend heavily using a walkthrough like I did, because once you cheat a couple of times, you won't be able to stop!
All in all, a really fantastic adventure game. You will have much fun with this one.
