Whizz through amazing stadiums and race tracks as you ride along on your stuntastic hoverboard. Choose from 8 characters, 2 boards, 1 stadium and 1 race track to start with. Perform tricks like jump and speed boost in the futuristic real cities, like London! Play head to head against friends in the cup races whilst trying to be in first place and perform tricks. All very easy. (once you get the hang of it). As the game progresses you get more moves and challenges along with charaters, boards and tracks. Practice on your board or goto the hoverboard master in the middle of one of the stadiums to recieve a training challenge which if completed sucessfully will get you a new move. Very good graphics and if you go really close to a wall the graphics aren't just large squares (pixels) that you so often see in games. The game is suitable for all ages (3+) and is the best game around for skaters and boarders of all types. The aound tracks are a bit corny in places and they could be improved but they are pretty good nonetheless. Really is good value for money not a must have game but is still pretty good.
Trickstyle is a hoverboarding game and is quite good. Being one of the release games tricktstyle was never going to be absolutely mind-blowing but it is a reasonable game. The graphics are sound are good and the game is really playable. However this is one of those games with short lastability as you won't go back once youve finished it. There aren't that many tracks and the tracks are short but there are also tricks and trick challenges for you to master. Until you finish it this is a good playable challenge and can be picked up for around £20 now so is worth a look. However don't expect lots of lastability as it wont last more than a month or two. Just missed out on four stars probably more like three and a hlaf stars.
If you want to picture Trickstyle (without looking at the picture!), then imagine wipeout on surfboards. That's a fair way to describe this game. It's not a magic game, not one that will live in the memory, but it deserves more then to be described as a shelf-filler. This game won't be everyone's cup of team but I quite like it. It has a two-player mode which is probably it's strongest point, and a fair variety of tracks. If you like the futuristic-style game, with a hint of originality then I would advise you to get this, especially considering you can purchase it for around £20 now. The soundtracks in the background are also very nice, and fit in very well with the game, as do the effect sounds. rob :P
The 'coolest' Dreamcast game ever? Well I think it is definitely in contention - as this game is SO smooth - and slick. the Visuals are absolutely amazing - even though this was one of the first DC titles! I have to say that the gameplay is also up there with the greatest games - as this hoverboard fest is a mix between tony hawk's skateboarding and well a snowboarding game! The controls are dead simple to use, and the game boasts loads of options and characters as well as great VM games - also the music is pure class. A worthy purchase. It is soon to be released on Playstation 2 I believe so it'll be interesting to see which game is the definitive version. Thumbs up to Acclaim and all at Criterion Studios!
I think Trickstyle is great! Loads of levels which keep you challenged and loads of countries to go to to complete them. Inter character relationships bring a little amusement to your game as they shout comments to each other during the races. I love the challenges that your trainer sets you. I admit that it took me a while to get used to this game and the controls but once you do, you'll find yourself learning nifty new tricks everytime you play. Also, it's great to play 2/3/4 player on coz you don't have to work through the stages and there are plenty of options to do what you choose. If you have the little memory pack that goes into the control, the mini-game on trickstyle is the classic game of Nokia Snakes! You'll love it!
I expected big things for this game, and the reviews on the television and magazines looked really cool. Sure it has good graphics and everything, but when it comes down to speed, you can't get much slower than this. It's feels like your crawling along at the back of a massive traffic jam. Not to mention the appalling controls, that if you don't get the hang of straight away, the game is a complete waste of time. The game gets awfully boring after a while as well, with the few tracks that there is, being similar. This has got to be one of the worst games I have played on any console. In my opinion, get Crazy Taxi instead.
Oh dear, what happened here.True, release date games aren't always some of the best but we deserve better than this.I,myself succumbed to the pretty colours and promises of "better than wipeout".It's not that it's a bad idea.Who hasn't dreamed of being Marty McFly in Back to the Future Two to try there hand at hoverboarding.Put your hand down at the back!Anyway....it's a promising idea,so what went wrong.First, there is a high lack of speed(not the drug). It's feels like your moving in a very long traffic jam which you've managed to find the back of.Secondly,if you can't get used to the controls in the first place, you're a goner. They are responsive, but with such tight corners and not much warning....well, you do the math.Indeed, the game has some of the prettiest graphics on any console, but beauty is only skindeep.Try Crazy Taxi instead.
Perfect game for everybody who likes games like Tony Hawk Skateboarding and all the snowboarding games out there. But Trick Style really sweeps the floor with its graphics. The Gameplay Is very easy to learn and it's a really smooth game so it feels right when you play. It doesn't feel fake as many other games in this kind of game!! The graphical side of the game is wonderful. Some minor bugs but overall it really gives other games like "Tony Hawk Skateboarding" a challange. the sound is, Well not the best part but i have seen alot worst.
This game is definately copying Wipeout. Like in Wipeout the game does not have many tracks. The game is very difficult but the controls do not take long to get used to. The graphics and overall gameplay are very good. You really need to practice this game (and I mean practice, A LOT) to complete the courses. The game is also played at a very fast pace. This is definately a game that Wipeout fans should buy, it will be their 'cup of tea'.
Okay so its good on the PC but is it any good on the dreamcast.Well basically no. Sorry but this game just doesnt have the feel of the PC version. The graphics are okay if not quite as nice as the PC version and the frame rate is a little choppy at times. However this wouldnt be to bad were it not for the controls which are appalling. Once I got the hang of it, I failed to complete task one and only won up to race two and I usually complete most games within hours. Frustratingly hard and theres not much to the game after all the effort. Dont bother with this one.
Trick Style is the wipeout of today and with it is lightning quick pace and dazzling graphics it makes it a very good game the only dissapointment is that there are not enough tracks(same in wipeout really) the final level is aaaaawesome you have to do loop the loops massive big jumps. I myself haven't managed to do that level yet(infact i can't even get past the first bit) all in quite a smashing game! A really good buy. bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye
As the other reviewer said although this is a good game it isn't as good as any of the wipeouts and it costs more! Somehow the wonderful idea of using rollerblades instead of hover car things really doesn't work as well. It is very close. If you have a dreamcast want a game similar to wipe out and you have the money go and get it otherwise don't. At least this developer has tried to chacnge his game from the rest which is always good unfortuneatly n this case it didin't quite work as well as they might have hoped!
This game is good on the eyes and even better when you play it. fun in single player option and even better in the super fast multiplayer option mode select. This Game is better than most. One of the thing that lets it down is the tracks , essiential to a racer type game varitety. Plenty of tracks to choose from none the less and good sound and the stuff that you use your eyes to see er graphics. Better Than Wipeout? In a word NO
This is an excellent game. I is brilliant to look at and the controlles are simple. However it is initially complicated due to having to learn the tricks needed to complete the courses. Also it is tuff. One mistake and you will not have enough time. Als o the IA is not to good. Finally though, it is a fun game and is better then most. (You will not have played anything like it before.) Similar in many ways to the wipeout series of games but with a new twist.
