If, like me, you're always strapped for cash (especially at this time of year!) and you can't find original but cheap gifts for your nearest and dearest, try 'IOU vouchers'. No, not for huge sums of cash or scented bath salts...favours. For example, use your PC or the humble pen and paper to make little vouchers with favours such as "A cup of tea and a biscuit", "Breakfast in bed", "A spring clean" or even something as simple as "A hug".
The next step is to pop a book of these little vouchers into a Christmas card and then present it to your chosen recipient. Voila!
This gift idea is especially good for the younger members of the family. Why not get them to make the vouchers for other members of the family (grandparents, uncles, aunties, siblings etc.)...it's the thought that counts after all!
You really could go to town with this one, whether you're a child or a full grown child at heart, get out the glitter and glue, think up a few original 'favours' (be as daring as you feel appropriate!) and do your worst!
Just imagine the money you'll save on expensive, unoriginal and 'same old, same old' Christmass pressies this year! Your family will probably appreciate it too...I'm sure your Dad has enough socks to last him a lifetime by now!
