      Very helpful

Warioland 2 was the first game I got with my Gameboy colour and it's managed to provide many hours of entertainment. Being new to the Gameboy at the time I'd not really had much experience with previous Mario games, except for a few goes on a PC based Gameboy emulator. Warioland impressed me with solid platform gaiming and a branching path to add a little more value into the game. The basic aim is to get to the end of each level. As with other platformers creatures will get in your way and there are coins to collect on route. There's nothing really new to the basic game. In colour the graphics are good for a handheld game with a nice level of detail for the small screen. Sound is the usual tinny series of beeps that the Gameboy produces, lets hope that Nintendo improve sound with the Gameboy Advanced. At the end of each level you can gain a piece of the treasure map by spending some of the coins you gained on a very simple game. You'll need the map pieces if you want to get to the final ending of the game. In addition to this every level has a treasure hidden within it, by finding all the treasures you open up another very tough level. The result is that there's tonnes of replay in this game. I spent many hours replaying levels trying to find just where the treasure was hidden and some of them are well hidden. So what would be just a standard platformer, all be it a good one, is enhanced by a well designed game structure. Levels require repeated play to complte all the objectives, alternative branches tell different stories and there are many hidden bonuses and sections. There's lots of fun in here and it's a game you can pick up and play for just 5 minutes at a time. Highly recommended you won't have wasted your money.
