2nd Test (Lords)Newest Review: ... match with everything. It had excitement, class, brilliance and sheer ecstasy. Watching the second day was something of a nightmare when we were batting. 44-4 when I saw at lunch time. The headlines read 'Pathetic England, 58-5', look at us two hours later. This was the perfect way to answer all of England's critics, there are many of them and just for a few days they were knocked for 6 by an England performance to be totally proud of. Andy Caddick was showing Walsh how to take wickets and in the resulting day we showed we could bat it out to the death and come up victorious. A soon as England put another foot wrong the cr... more |

Well could there have been anything more in that match? It only lasted 3 days but hell were they good. The worst test playing nation in the world just knocked over the Windies for 54. A bit of a cliche, I know. But it really is. When was the last time you saw cricket on the front page of our newspapers? A superb performance from all involved. I only wish it could have gone on for the whole five days. The problem now is to try to get the batsmen to perform. This match was all about the bowlers. With a bit of luck England will continue to play well during the one day series and then at Old Trafford. If this does happen we will be well on the way to getting cricket back as the popular summer sport that it deserves to be. ... Read the complete review

Who said Cricket was boring? After watching the last 2 days play, not many people could say this. It was just as exciting as Euro 2000 and more so than most of Wimbledon. Every moment of the last 2 days has kept the fans on the edge of your seats. It looked like we were going to lose it when we did poorly in the first innings. Then, Caddick and co came back to break most records and put us in the driving seat. Just when it looked like we might win, the team kept our nerves at breaking point. Then, thanks to a coragus batting attempt by Nick Knight, despite a broken finger, and Dominic Cork on his return to the team, we got the win. There was never a ... Read the complete review

Congratulations to all of them for their fantastic performances with the ball. I have always been a huge fan of Cork since his international debut, and for the 18 months he was left out of the side. I was very happy to see him reinstated in the team and he showed why he was picked. Caddick was the best bowler yesterday. The commentators said that he seems to perform better in the second innings, as he feels more relaxed. I say, play him, if he is going to bowl like that! He continuly made the batsmen work every ball and made the crowd go wild. Darren Gough, the other bowler in the England attack yesterday, bowled consistantly well, and was so ... i have just witnessed the most thrilling and absorbing days play in a test match ever. After England had diabolically been dismissed for one hundred and thirty four i despaired at their performance but I was soon feeling a lot better, the england bowlers performed with all the passion that had been missing from the batsman, Andy Caddick especially dishing out the type of deliveries that the Windies are renowned for. The england team now have an excellent chance to square the series and hopefully by the time you read this they will have. Dominic cork being recalled to the test side now looks like a stroke of genius. ... Read the complete review
