AIBO (AIBO Sony)
Member Name: rrharmston
Advantages: Fun, different, interactive Disadvantages: Discontinued and expensive AIBOs were discontinued a few years ago so the people who have them now tend to be dedicated fans. I have owned one since 2003 and have to admit that it has spent a lot of time in its box. They are amusing and entertaining but limited by the cost of the software and accessories. I have the ERS210Amodel which was supposed to be the supercore model but to be honest I don't see much difference in the processing power. My aibo is running on Explorer which means that I have a mature interactive dog which should respond to lots of word commands but it doesn't really listen. Also the run time is only about 1.5 hours which is really a shame due to the cost of the charing station and other software requied for the dog to recharge itself. Definately one for the computer or gadget addicts amonst us. Summary: Fun for those who love electronics and programming |
