Advantages: A fun time
Disadvantages: Still suffering in the world
Being in the "happy" mood I find myself in right now, I thought it a good time to remind everyone of the "other side of Christmas. OK, so there are people a lot worse off than me. I can accept that but there are also a lot of people out there that seem to lose the point of Christmas in a mixture of wrapping paper and lavish gifts. My case is that I have just been laid off from work. Hence the reason the title is in capitals! IT is the profession I was in and its nor all shining lights at the moment. No one is hiring! After nearly 6 years, they decided to make me redundant. Nice hey? Just before Christmas. So im frantcally searching the job sites of the work to find something. I know I will do in the end because I am so determined not to be out of work for too long. Im staying positive and keeping my ear to the ground. But what I do notice is that a lot of people are generally getting in the spirit of Christmas by helping me with job offers/interviews/agencies. So many people have offered their help in my quest. Something that really hits home at this time of year. But for those of you who are out there this christmas without a care in the world, remeber some ot the people below: The homeless. They will be having a miserable christmas. Something that we cannot avoid and a problem that plagues all societies. Its not just a rich man's christmas but also one for the poor. A few pence in their cup will not hurt right now. If it the difference between a cup of warm tea and not, it will be like the difference of a turkey or not on your dinner table. The Sick and their families. While we are sitting at home, there will be many families grieving a loss or perhaps the fact that this will be the last Chrismas with a loved one. Terminal illness is something that affects all of us in some way and knowing that this is the last one can be very depressing for many families. Instead of feeling d
own ,you must instead make it the best Christmas ever with plenty of joyfulness. I know. I have been through this at the age of 14 when my father was dying from Cancer. You have to make it truly great for them. The struggling people of the world. The hungry and war ravaged in Africa. The Storm damaged people of Asia. The uncertainties that lie over those in Iraq and Afganistan. These are innocent people that are affected by situations out of their control. They are at the mercy of the weather and/or evil dictators. They will have little in the way of possessions and may not even celebrate Christmas as part of their religion but we still have to spare a thought for them at this time of year. Apart from that have a great Christmas. I hope I have not depressed you all too much. Just wanted to remind you all that it is not all roses at Christmas.
