Advantages: other half will be happy as the clothes will fit on christmas morning
Disadvantages: A lot of men don't check the sizes and might be embarrassed asking staff in the shop for help
There is nothing more irritating than opening a Christmas present, finding a great item of clothing and trying it on only to find it is too big or too small. Mainly because the other half didn't check the size before he bought it. It is not a difficult task. Just have a quick peek in her wardrobe when she is out of the house or room and look at the size on the labels of her most favourate clothes. Don't make the mistake of reading labels on clothes you have never seen her in or not seen her in for a long time just in case she has gained or lost weight. The other problem that you may come across is that some stores sizes don't look quite the same as others. Why not try what my husband did one year. He could have been just chatting up the staff in the shop but he managed to get one of them to try on the coat he was looking at for me as she was a similar build and when he saw that the size he had picked up fitted her, he knew it would fit me. So then bought it. And a lovely coat it was too. So please all you men out there. Check the size first don't just guess women's clothes sizes cannot just be guessed. You more often than not make a mistake!

- 14/12/00 If men are unsure like my mum has about three different sizes in her wardrobe they should ask someone else more likely to know such as a best friend, mother, daughter - in general someone she'd shop with. |

- 16/11/00 fluffypup yes shame on them. But there are tons out there that don't know them.
Cammet. Carry on hinting. Sometimes they are really listening but just don't let on! |
